Types of Programs
Alba tailors each Spanish-language program to your specific and individual needs. Costs vary depending on the length of time desired for lessons and the type of program you would like. Basic tutoring rates:
$7/hour for one student
$12/hour for two students
Rates are in U.S. dollars. The recommended minimum class length per day is 4 hours. A 30 minute break is included in each 4 hour session. Note: Your payment includes all required learning materials.
Immersion Program
An ideal program for the person seeking to truly establish their Spanish-speaking ability (may also be combined with the Cultural/Travel Program). To facilitate the opportunity for practicing Spanish after class each day, a homestay with an Ecuadorian family is recommended.
Executive Program
This program is designed for the business person in Quito who is seeking to improve their Spanish. Lessons are tailored to a particular type of business and can take place in the office. Scheduling is very flexible due to the demands of a busy workplace.
Medical Program
For foreign doctors and nurses desiring to better communicate with their Spanish-speaking patients, this program is designed to focus on medical Spanish. Those not in the medical profession who are concerned with world-health issues may also find this program enriching by taking the opportunity to volunteer at a local hospital during their stay.
Cultural/Travel Program
This program may be combined with any of the other programs or may be enjoyed all on its own. If you would like to explore the cultural side of Quito rather than sitting in the classroom, the city offers a multitude of activities. From the beautifully constructed churches and museums to festivals and day-trip excursions, a cultural program offers a wide variety of learning opportunities. Visit destinations such as La Mitad del Mundo (where you can actually stand on the equator!), the Saquisili Indigenous Market, or the Mindo Cloud Forest, just to name a few. For the more adventurous traveler who would like a personal guide, Alba will make your visit educational and memorable.
Basic Tutoring
This is for the student or Spanish speaker who wishes to prepare for the DELE exam, other Spanish language exams, or has a specific need to improve their Spanish.
